Non-Executive Chairman

Roy Wakeman is a leading figure and driving force in the timber and joinery industry and has led the Industry as President of the BWF (British Woodworking Federation) three times in his career, 1987, 2001 and 2013. Roy was Chairman of the Construction Confederation in 2001, and currently chairs the CTI (Confederation of Timber Industries).

Roy has grown a number of well-known brands and businesses in the joinery manufacturing arena including Sarek Joinery with sales of £30m in 1984-90; The LS Group of Performance Doorsets including the brands of Leaderflush, Shapland and Petter, and Longden Doors with sales of £40m 1995-2005.

In 2006 Roy lead a management buyout of Mumford & Wood, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high quality bespoke timber windows and doors, which at the time had sales revenues of £6m; since then Roy and his team have built a group of timber fenestration brands under the umbrella of PTPG with sales currently over £20m pa. The brands include Mumford & Wood, Timber Windows, Dale Joinery and Stonehouse Corinium.

Group CEO

Jay joined the group 15 years ago and has progressed his career through the group companies during this time. Jay was appointed as the PWG Managing Director in 2012 and his leadership has been a key element of its success in recent years. 2016 saw Jay’s role expand further with him incorporating the Managing Directors role of Mumford and Wood as part of his duties. 2017 saw Jay appointed as Group CEO whilst retaining overall operational responsibility for all the group companies.

Jay is seen as a natural leader with a passionate and contagious enthusiasm. A highly motivated hands on people manager, he has always been comfortable and happy to lead his management team and staff by example, with an energetic style. Jay has dedicated time to creating an “anything is possible” environment across the group and a culture based on core values and success.

Jay has the ability to dissect, analyse, forecast and deliver sound financial numbers and statistical data, while providing the strength, character and dedication at the highest level to continue driving the businesses to achieve their ambitions.

Group Sales & Marketing Director

Charles’ career has spanned 25 years in the fenestration industry, from his beginnings selling uPVC window systems, to owning and operating his own conservatory company.  

Joining Timber Windows in 2010, Charles led the sales and marketing functions, developing his role at the head of these departments across all brands within the PTPG group, being an instrumental part of the team responsible for its ongoing success. Prior to this, Charles held the positions at Epwin, K2 and Hampton Conservatories, including 3 years in the USA. 

Charles heads up the sales and marketing strategy, setting the direction of these functions, along with the formation and maintenance of strong relationships with the external marketing partners and the those with direct responsibility for sales and customer facing roles. A dynamic, fast and creative thinker, Charles has boundless energy and passion, as well as being a dynamic key leader and influencer within the group. 

Non-Executive Director

Richard is a Chartered Accountant. With over 40 years of experience, Richard was previously a partner at Ernst and Young, where he was head of Corporate Finance, and has extensive experience of the Building Products sector.

Group Finance Director

As the Group Finance Director for PTPG, Raj has held senior finance roles within the wider group since 2014. 

Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1992, Raj has since been in a number of senior and board level positions within high profile businesses, many of which have been venture capitalist or private equity funded.  

Raj’s extensive traditional and commercial experience in small and large businesses results in his strong ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues alike, across all departments, to enhance management reporting and enable decision making that drives financial performance.
